The Ministry of Health through a press release announced that the budget allocated for the Pharmaceutical Program of the Ministry of Health dedicated to supplying health institutions with drugs and consumables from the Essential List for 2021 is 5,550,000.00 euros, while that of 2020 has was 11,476,913.90 euros.

According to the announcement, the Essential List for primary supply has a total of 282 items, of which 206 are drugs, while 76 are consumables.

"The current number of signed contracts for drugs is 24, or expressed as a percentage of 11.65%. The current number of signed contracts for consumables is 12, or expressed as a percentage of 15.79%. The number of articles that the Ministry of Health currently has at its disposal is 109, or expressed as a percentage, 38.6%", the announcement states.

As stated in the announcement, the durability of the items that the MoH has available (109) for many items is no longer than six months (they will be spent within this period).

"Based on these data, it is estimated that the continuity of the regular supply of drugs and consumables from the Essential List during this year is seriously endangered. Ministry of Health is doing its utmost to improve this situation through concrete actions and, after a detailed analysis of the reasons that have created this situation, I will take concrete steps to ensure a stable supply of primary level health institutions (QKMF- ve) with the necessary items from the Essential List of Medicines", the announcement states. /Telegraph/
